Pictures at an Exhibition

DESCRIPTION

A mash-up version of the piano version of Mussorgksy's masterpiece (1874) and the prog rock take on the subject by Emerson lake and Palmer (1971). The idea was triggered by Australian visual artist Andrew Quinn who had previously—and extensively—worked on the famous orchestral version by Maurice Ravel. Quinn has taken his original idea and re-worked it into a real-time responsive installation that reacts to Mussorgky's music, bridging the gap between the original and its prog rock sibling.
