At The Gates Of The Twilight Zone

DESCRIPTION

Bernard Herrmann was a prolific film composer who released many famous soundtracks between 1958 and 1963, including works for Hitchcock films and the TV series The Twilight Zone. His music was featured in seven episodes of the show, and was also used as library music and recycled for other episodes. He was known for his minimalistic approach, suspenseful harmonies, and creative use of timbres. Our release features recordings of Herrmann's scores for two Twilight Zone episodes, Little Girl Lost and Living Doll. The music for Little Girl Lost features a viola d'amore and four harps and flutes, while Living Doll has a mechanical waltz motif that recalls Herrmann's work on Vertigo. The Outer Space Suite is a collection of tracks licensed for generic use that CBS used frequently in The Twilight Zone, and it includes a revisitation of the grand atmospheres from Herrmann's score for The Day the Earth Stood Still.
