Progetto Generativo
DESCRIPTION
Esecutori di Metallo su Carta is an ensemble that was founded to perform transcriptions of instrumental music from a variety of Italian math-rock, noise, avant-garde, and metal bands. The goal of the project was not simply to archive these songs, but to explore the potential similarities between the unconventional tunes of alt-rock musicians and the experimental compositions of contemporary classical music. The EdMsC project's first album, Progetto Generativo, demonstrates the connections between the music of those alt-rock musicians and classical composers such as Louis Andriessen, Magnus Lindberg, David Lang, and Charles Ives.
